Well this game was a bummer. Greene was perfect through the first four and had a no-hitter into the sixth. We only scored two runs, both from sac flies, and went into the ninth with that two nothing lead. Greene only got one out before loading the bases, which brought on Wild Thing and some Rolaids. Started off with an error by Williams to cut the lead in half and then a walk off double by Clayton to end the game and blow the save. Womp womp.

Our offense keeps on rolling, with the help of some sloppy fielding by the Giants. Six of our eight runs were unearned, but they still count! Aside from a three run homer to Matt Williams, Rivera was pretty solid. Mitch came into the ninth for a three run save, but still made it an adventure. Lead off double, pair of walks, Bonds at the plate. A pair of line outs and a ground out ended the game with zero damage, aside from our acid reflux.

Jackson pitched a gem, allowing only three hits, no walks and no runs. Twice we batted around and both times Incaviglia knocked in two runs, one with a single the other with a homerun.

We jumped out to a four two lead thanks to a bunch of singles. Schilling was pitching well, but the defense let him down in the eighth as a two base error by Thompson let the tying run score. To extra innings we went and in the eleventh, with two outs, Hollins hit a solo shot to give us the lead and Mitch came in for his twenty-seventh save.

Another pitching duel where runs were hard to come by. They got one in the third with a lead off double, sac bunt to third, ground out to score. We tied it in the seventh thanks to a two out, pinch hit double by Incaviglia which was close to a homerun. Another extra inning game and in the eleventh we batted around and scored four, thanks to several errors by this crappy Dodgers infield. With a four run lead we let DeLeon close it out, and he did his best to make it close. Could have brought in Mitch for the save, but bringing in a lefty would have been dumb, so let DeLeon finish. He managed to strike out the side, he just gave up a couple walks and singles in between.

Well, they didn’t save any runs and this time our bullpen blew the game…twice. A one one tie led us to extra innings. In the tenth we scrounged together a run, which brought Wild Thing for the save. Walk, stolen base, fielder’s choice, and a wild pitch blew it.. Then in the twelfth, Mike Williams gave up a walk off homerun to Jody Reed. So yeah…

What started as a pitching duel turned into a crazy blow out. Astacio went six and gave up one run, the bullpen gave up seventeen!!! Including ten in the ninth inning. Kruk and Daulton walked three at bats in a row each. Amaro came in late and went three for four, knocking in three and scoring four runs, including the go ahead homerun. Dykstra knocked in four on a pair of doubles. Hollins had a bases loaded, three run double. Hope they saved some for the rest of the series.
